Fueling Leadership
Our grant programs are designed to support educators who bring creative, standards-based projects to their classrooms and to empower students to take on leadership roles in philanthropy. From fostering innovative teaching practices to encouraging youth involvement in meaningful causes, our grants make a lasting impact on students, educators, and the broader community.
Our Grants
We provide grants that target innovation and community spirit in students and educators.
Educator Innovation Grants
“It's been clear that my students love literature because when we read stories as a whole class, there is so much participation. However, whenever it is time to read on their own, they suddenly "hate reading." Enter the VOX Books, and a whole new world is opening up for them! They actually ask me when their independent reading time will be! They are telling me the plot of their stories! They want to tell me the page number they're on, because they've never made progress like this! These books are building on their strengths, helping them with skills, and most of all - giving them confidence.”
The WRCEF awarded this $1500 grant to 7th grade reading students of Mrs. Lunger - earphones, recorded stories, sentences to see, stories to hear - means improved literacy for struggling readers.

GRANT SPOTLIGHT
“Reading! Reading! Get Caught Reading!” A fall 2024 grant in the junior/senior high set up a challenge for 7th - 12th grade to get caught reading independently on their own time in school. The Culture of Reading Team set out to instill a love of reading through rewards and incentives throughout the school year. Evidence supports the fact that students need to become readers and/or find a love of reading to feel success in many other aspects of their lives. Congrats to this team on their initiative!
