WHAT IMAGE WILL FILL the 3-story brick wall on the back of the Warrior Run Elementary School?
Commissioned by the WRCEF to create an exterior mural, 2000 WR grad and nationally known muralist, Jon Laidacker is designing a mural with input of students and staff to add a distinctive visual to enhance the Warrior Run experience.
Funded through 2024 Educational Improvement Tax Credit funds from Journey Bank and FNB to the WRCEF, by fall 2026 a mural facing the stadium will be in place, creating a unique visual of Warrior Run pride. Here, in fall 2025 Laidacker met with students to explain his work and their part in the upcoming mural project.

WR HAS LAIDACKER MURAL HISTORY!
In 2014 Laidacker was commissioned to transform the front of the WR Jr/High Building from plain to spectacular. Jon collaborated with friend and WRHS art teacher Joel Ryder to make the historic scenes come to life with students and community members. They are each pictured in the mural end panels. The design was divided into large sections, painted by over 1000 student and community "muralists", and attached to the brick. We cannot imagine our school without this original and distinctive trademark.
