The Warrior Run Community Education Foundation (WRCEF) supports students, educators, and the school district by funding innovative projects, professional development, and facility improvements. Its Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) program empowers high school students to learn about philanthropy and allocate real grants to community organizations, awarding $5,000 annually. WRCEF also provides Classroom Innovation Grants to teachers and operates in partnership with the Community Giving Foundation as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3). Through these initiatives, WRCEF strengthens education and community engagement in the Warrior Run School District.

YIP students held a successful fundraiser, “Breakfast with Santa,” in December 2023 to benefit YIP philanthropy. Thank you to Co-Principal Dr. Andrea Landis and teacher Kevin Myers for serving as class advisers. Advisors for 2024-2025 are Kevin Myers and Principal Casey Magargle.
Warrior Run has long been recognized as a supportive and generous community. With this in mind, the Foundation continues to pursue a Youth in Philanthropy program to teach and model the benefits of sharing time, talents, and treasure with our community.

Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) is a program that teaches high school students the meaning of philanthropy, how non-profits function, and the various ways individuals can contribute to meaningful causes. Students then learn about their school and local community’s needs and “grant” real funding to organizations of their choice.
The WR YIP Chapter currently grants $5,000 annually through an application process. Consider supporting this project by donating to the WRCEF. Donations help educate students and fund grants determined by the youth.

In May 2024, WRCEF awarded $27,000 in 11 grants to benefit students and educators in K-12 WRSD classrooms. Donations to the Foundation fund student attendance in leadership training, teacher professional development in science instruction, learning tools in kindergarten, STEM tools for primary science, reading incentives, sensory hallway and playground accessories, keyboarding assistance, CPR manikins for child development classes, dual enrollment tuition scholarships for Education CTE students, and a new WRSD mascot costume.
The Warrior Run Community Education Foundation sponsors annual grants to WRSD teachers to promote innovative teaching and learning in the classroom. Grants up to $1,500 may be awarded to teachers to use toward professional development or an innovative, standards-based instructional unit or project with the ultimate goal of increasing student engagement and learning.
The Foundation offers two grant rounds, one in October and one in April. Any certified professional staff member may submit proposals. Teachers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity through the Educator Innovation Grant Application.

The Warrior Run Community Education Foundation (WRCEF) supports students, teachers, and the school by investing charitable assets to improve educational experiences and the physical environment. This includes grants for innovative academic projects, extracurricular or cultural enrichment, and facility improvements.
WRCEF operates in partnership with the Community Giving Foundation, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, to manage and invest funds.
