On Memorial Day Weekend, nearly 100 WR choir alumni will "come home" from across the country for Decades of Song: The Legacy of CJ Pawling-Young, a one-of-a-kind reunion and dedication concert celebrating an extraordinary teaching career and the enduring power of the arts.
Sponsored by WRCEF, this highly anticipated event pays tribute to music educator Connie Pawling-Young, whose 20-year career at WR shaped not only a distinguished choral and musical theater program, but also the lives of countless students who carry her influence far beyond the stage.
The concert marks a historic moment for the school community: the official naming of the Jr./Sr. High Auditorium Stage in Connie’s honor. This dedication becomes possible through a generous gift to the Foundation from alumni siblings Kristen Hawley Turner and Matthew Hawley.
Directed by the honoree, the alumni concert captures music from all 21 musicals from her 1983 - 2003 tenure, with solos, duets and group selections, as well as shines a spotlight on the ongoing strength of Warrior Run’s music and arts programs. Join the celebration!
"Thank you to Kristen Hawley Turner, '94, and Matthew Hawley, '99, for their generosity to the Warrior Run community.
Their contribution enables the lifetime naming of the high school stage in honor of their choral director Connie Pawling-Young and provides funds for the WR education experience."
